Media Team Application

Thank you for your interest in being a member of the Calvary Baptist Church Media Team. Our church is blessed with many talented individuals willing to serve. All members of the Media Team serve on a volunteer basis, and it is our desire to honor Christ in supporting the Worship Team with excellence and effectiveness.

The Media Team is a ministry overseen by the Church Elders through the leadership of volunteer Worship Pastor and Elder Don Bishop. Don has served as Worship Pastor of Calvary since August 2001. He, along with Senior Pastor Ben Kimmell and the Church Elders, have the responsibility to make sure those who serve and lead in this ministry agree with our doctrinal positions. In our efforts to be good stewards and as overseers of Calvary Baptist Church we have developed this application for those who would like to serve as part of the Media Team at Calvary Baptist Church (“CBC”).

>> Next: Requirements & Expectations

Requirements & Expectations

  • Live a life that honors Jesus Christ in church, at home, at work, in school and on social media. This includes dressing appropriately, refraining from using profanity, and interacting with others in a Christ-like manner.
  • Engage regularly with God in prayer and Bible study.
  • Willing to learn under the direction of the Media Leadership Team.
  • Be a team player: cooperate with and encourage other members of the Media Team. Be willing to let others grow in their gifts and opportunities to lead and support our worship.
  • Submit to the leadership of Calvary Baptist Church.
  • Regularly attend church services.
  • Be on time and prepared for rehearsals and services. When possible, be familiar with new material prior to rehearsal.
  • Accept or decline Planning Center Service requests when received.

Failure to meet Requirements & Expectations

If a member of the Media Team fails to live up to these standards – including CBC’s statement of beliefs – they will be asked to take a six week leave of absence from service on the Media Team. After which, they will meet with the Worship Pastor and/or Elders to determine if they are ready to rejoin the Media Team.

Musicality & Expertise

Members of the Media Team are a dedicated group of volunteers, not a professional team. However, each participant needs to be skilled enough in their area to effectively contribute to the technical aspects of worship services. Therefore, each team member should be prepared, engaged, and proficient in their role. There is a place of service for everyone within the church, and each individual brings unique gifts and abilities. God loves everyone equally and has bestowed gifts upon each of us. We are called to use these gifts to the best of our ability for His glory.
